Sermorelin and GHRP’s 101

Written by Roger Bowman | Jul 4, 2016 4:28:31 PM

Sermorelin Acetate (Geref) is a form of hormone releasing factor (GRF) which is naturally produced by the brain to stimulate pituitary production of hormones. In this case, it helps to stimulate the body's natural production of growth hormone which is then converted into IGF-1 within the liver to then influence many desired benefits many patients are looking for.

Many physicians believe Sermorelin therapy, along with its dual blend, Sermorelin with GHRP6 or GHRP-2 or a tri-blend, Sermorelin with GHRP6 and GHRP2, offers patients substantial results and benefits. This is a great alternative for patients and their doctors who would like a boost in growth hormone and IGF-1 levels without using exodogenous growth hormone or IGF-1.  It is often a preferred option when the patient has a healthy pituitary gland and liver and where cost may be a concern. Sermorelin and any of its combos are a fraction of the cost that growth hormone is and is very well suited for many.

These treatments are prescribed for unlabeled use in adults to improve a hormone deficiency and to increase lean muscle mass, reduce body fat, increase bone density, enhance the immune system, and strengthen the heart, as well as, other organs of the body such as skin.

Use of Sermorelin and GHRP’s Have Been Shown To Improve:

  • Food intake, sleep and behavior
  • Gonadotropin secretion
  • Gastric acid secretion and motility
  • Modulation of cell proliferation and survival
  • Cardiac performances and vascular resistances
  • Energy and metabolism
  • Glucose metabolism
  • Exocrine and endocrine pancreatic function

How Sermorelin and GHRP’s Work in the Body

Sermorelin, and its associated blends, are classified as prescription drugs, compounded by U.S. pharmacies pursuant to a physician's prescription. As mentioned, it stimulates the pituitary gland to naturally produce increased amounts of growth hormone.

As a result of Sermorelin therapy, the increased volume of growth hormone secreted by the stimulated pituitary gland is converted by the liver into IGF-1. The increased amount of IGF-1 in the blood stream results in an increase of metabolism and growth of new cells within the body's organs and bones.

Sermorelin therapy has been specifically approved for medical use for increasing hormone levels in children deficient in hormone production. Its use to increase IGF-1 levels in adults is becoming increasingly popular in age management and anti- aging medicine in addition to the said shown health benefits mentioned.

How Is It Dosed and Used?

Sermorelin and GHRP combos are used in a similar fashion that growth hormone is. For some, best benefits they are often prescribed and taken twice a day, once in the morning and once again at night. It is important that no food, especially carbohydrates, are consumed within 60 minutes of dosing. Most however find it just as beneficial to take just once a day before bed. Dosing can often range from 20-40 units (200-400mcg) depending on one’s need and prescription from their doctor.
