There is a lot of concern circulating in the world lately as we are inundated with fear revolving around Covid-19. Never before have we witnessed such a massive reaction and impact from a health epidemic like what we have this time.
For years and still till this day, heart disease, cancer and their ties to obesity and lifestyle habits have dominated the mortality charts and still dwarf the Covid-19 numbers - even though we don’t hear much about it. But, nothing has exposed the status of our health and wellness like what we’re seeing currently.
Our goal here is to shine light on all this and attempt to give some insights, help and reminders on how to best optimize our bodies and immune systems. Now more than ever, this is something that deserves attention as it is critical to be and stay strong. For ourselves, our family, our professional lives and our future!
Our state of health in America is currently being exposed, whether we want to admit it or not.
Below are highlighted sections of this blog to jump to:
- Heart Breaking Consequences
- Physical Inactivity IS Killing Us!
- Immune System Boosting Products
- An Optimized Endocrine System IS Key Too!
- Our Health and, Decisions About it
We Are Being Exposed...
- We are being exposed to our actions, inaction's and our negligence with not being proactive in nurturing our bodies appropriately - whether we want to admit it or not.
- We are being exposed to how physically unfit and overweight we are, which is LARGELY responsible for chronic low grade inflammation most are living with AND of which is LARGELY contributing to almost 90% comorbidity tied to covid-19 deaths.
- We are being exposed to how unprepared our immune systems are, to deal with a flu virus due to having lifestyles that contribute to damaging instead of supporting, strong immune systems.
Challenging and Heart Breaking Consequences
According to a recent report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reiterated by Medscape as well:
"Data collected by the newly created COVID-19–Associated Hospitalization Surveillance Network (COVID-NET) put the exact prevalence of underlying conditions at 89.3% for patients hospitalized during March 1-30, 2020, Shikha Garg, MD, of the CDC's COVID-NET team and associates wrote in the MMWR.
The hospitalization rate for COVID-19 has recently been estimated at 4.6 per 100,000 population, and almost 90% of hospitalized patients have some type of underlying condition, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."
Almost 90% of COVID-19 Admissions Involve at least one if not more, underlying health concerns or conditions. Most of which fall under the umbrella of heart disease and those directly tied to it.
This is a staggering statistic that really is not getting the attention it should! Not by the media. Not by Government. Not by the medical community. Not by the WHO. NOT by those that fall into this category!
It is also apparent that Americans are not confident with their own health and immune systems either. Everything is shut down and nobody wants to come within 10 feet of anyone due to fear of getting sick.
Like for those that failed to save money when they could have with the ability to do so… Now, is a painful time given there was no forethought or attention given to their financial well being.
Too little, too late as the bankrupt virus will also start to make waves, soon to be a tsunami.
Kind of the same with many people’s health and bodies. No investment. No attention. No care. And now, a totally unexpected virus hurricane has come in and we're not prepared to weather the storm. Most bodies are vulnerable, weak and exposed.
Hindsight they say is 20/20... But we still have plenty of time to get clear this year in 2020 to open our eyes, prioritize and get our health and our immune systems optimized - we best recognize!
*** Did you catch my rhyming skills there? 😎
Now more than ever is a critical time to give an honest self evaluation of our health and lifestyles. And furthermore, to take action where necessary.
Building Immune Systems; Do's and Dont's
There are things we can do that BREAK DOWN our immune system.
- Stress. Arguably the biggest contributor here. Chronically elevated levels of stress trigger production of the hormone cortisol, which impairs the function of infection-fighting T cells. This, currently applies to more Americans than EVER before.
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Smoking
- Crappy Diet
Then, there are things we can do that BUILD UP our immune system.
Physical Inactivity IS Killing Us!
Staying physically active with an emphasis on resistance training, is a HUGE benefit and positive influence on our health - especially in our older years!
Having a grasp on and understanding the basics of food, nutrition and appropriate consumption can contribute to good health or, the demise of it!
When it comes to food and the "gas we're putting in the tank" - is it the right kind?
Immune System Boosting Products
Some of the more promising supplements that may help boost immunity during these times are listed below to consider, in no particular order.
- Liposomal vitamin C
- Oil of Oregeno
- Zinc
- Vitamin D3 ( Cholecalciferol form)
- Glutathione - ONLY injectable form is useful. But, very powerful antioxidant in the body on many levels
An Optimized Endocrine System IS Key Too!
A few huge players here:
- Growth Hormone
- DHEA
- Thyroid
- Pineal Gland & Melatonin
Decisions At Cross Roads
If we're being honest, America at large has some decisions to make. The economy, politics, corruption and much more are out of our control. One thing we can control however, is our health.
Most of us still have enough freedom and ability to explore, learn and implement changes for the better. For the better of ourselves, our well being, our children and our future.
We may not have all the best answers as they pertain to each of us individually, but they exist. Simply starting with and implementing a little common sense with eating habits and committing to being more active are great starting points for most. Again, our future depends on it.
Many lives will continue to be lost, especially when inflation comes and we see more forced into poverty and further declines in health as a result. We are living in and witnessing a pivitol moment in time, much of which revolves around our status of health and understanding of it.
Are you going to survive and thrive in the end? Or, be exposed?
